Desolation

Handmade artist book from when I was at QCA. I was a print major. This book has a hand cut copper plate cover and a brass hinge. The covers are acid etched. It contains 16 Intaglio prints in concertina on Stonehenge cold press and its bound with a Japanese paper.

It depicts the hard lives of people doing everyday work. The jobs that build a foundation in our society. The aim was to give a simple depiction of hardship, one that is relatable. So that the viewer thinks to themselves “I’ve been there”.

I consider this work successful because someone did actually say that while viewing this work.
